I was talking to a friend the other day who had been engaged as a consultant on a nearby farm. He was one of a number and thinking to save the farmer some money he suggested that he might already have enough advisers and there was no need for his services.
‘No, no’ the farmer replied, ‘I need you to provide a regenerative view.’
Great! My friend began to discuss increasing stock movements, appropriate rest periods, monitoring..
The farmer stopped him, ‘I don’t need to know about that stuff, I mean I want you to tell me what regenerative inputs to spread.’
Oh well. Maybe this farmer will achieve great things with compost and bio stimulants in the mix, maybe he won’t, but his army of contractors will be happy either way.
We will persevere with our animals.
