It is noticeably hotter and drier on the farm than it was a month ago and the landscape behind the mob will need some moisture before growth can begin in earnest.
The landscape in front of the mob tells a different story. It has not seen a hoof since early October and three months of uninterrupted growth has resulted in a rich variety of grass and forbs filled with energy. The cattle and sheep will not be wanting.
Our environment will always experience drier times sooner or later so they must be planned for. If you are relying upon consistent humidity year round in inland Australia you will come unstuck.
