Talk with someone about the rain and you may be told why rain at this time of year (whatever time of year it is) does not do any good.
Rain in winter does not help because it is too cold for the grass to grow - rain in late spring is just going to mean sheep with flystrike - rain in summer will ruin the dry feed standing in the paddock. You get the idea.
There is truth to all of these but as someone in the business of growing as much grass as possible, just let it rain.
