The pigs went wandering

Last Thursday we weaned another group of rambunctious pigs as we have done many times before. We popped them into their new home, settled them in and they went straight through the electric fence. That's alright, its happened before - we rounded them up and carried on with the day.

Friday, everyone stayed put.

Saturday, everyone had vanished without a trace but that's alright, they always come back when they get a bit peckish.

Sunday, still no pigs and still no trace. We searched up the hill, down the hill, along the creeks and at every dam. This was more than a bit worrying but all we could do was hope hunger finally convinced them to return.

Finally, on Monday morning we received word that they have been spotted by our neighbour and sure enough, there they all are grazing on their lucerne paddock in a couple of kilometres away, quite content. They may have been happy there forever but all's well that ends well and hopefully our neighbour won't miss a bit of lucerne.
