Ewes and lambs

Moving the ewes and their lambs from one paddock to another is a great test of patience (for us and them).

Those with a single baby jog along quickly enough, but those with two or three constantly have to double back to pick up the lamb that was distracted by its neighbour or lost its way behind an unusually large clump of grass. Amazingly every one of the ewes knows how many lambs they have and they constantly check that each one is in tow.

During the day you will find flocks of lambs charging around at play, but when it is time to move everyone knows to stick close.
